Alexander

Alexander was born in Venezuela and began his musical career at age 7
singing in his father’s band El Combo Marabino. At a very young age
he studied piano, classical voice, solfege and harmony at the Conservatory of Music. During his four years there he also showed a talent for composing his own songs. At age 16 he was given an important recognition as The Juvenile Voice of Venezuela.

He then began his professional career with a popular local big band. Alexander stayed with the band for three years and recorded three albums. In 1992, he joined Los Melodicos, a 44-year-old famous big band. He remained with them for five years, made two videos and toured Europe, North America and South America.

His desire to study English and to expand his musical knowledge helped him decide to go to Boston and take classes at the Berklee College of Music. Soon he was discovered by the Latino community and began participating in Latin, Puerto Rican and Dominican festivals in the area and shared the stage with renowned artists such as Toño Rosario, Tito Rojas, Milly Quezada, Ruby Perez and Charly Cruz among others.

He performs at the annual concerts at the Berklee Performance Center with well-known artists like Giovanni Hidalgo, Bob Doezema and Phil Wilson. In February 2002 is nominated for the 15th Annual “Boston Music Awards”, among more than 250 artists, one of the most prestigious music recognitions in America.

He is currently living in Boston and performs with a 13-piece band all around the state and surrounding areas with great response and favorable comments from the public.
Local radio stations played his merengue “Abrazame muy Fuerte” strongly during Summer 2002, his first bachata recordings ”Celos” and “Hazme Olvidarla” were among the most popular songs during Summer of 2003 and his version of the song “Año Viejo”becomes very popular .

In May 2004, Alexander releases his first music video witht the bachata “Celos” and releases his bachata production called “Sin Titulo” (No tilttle) released at the same time in Spain, Canary Islands.

His live shows include many of his own compositions and arrangements. It is full of contagious rhythms and romanticism featuring him as a complete artist and a great performer worth watching on a stage!
